Performance art devoted to the living
Besançon, September 2019
The artist Julien Ridouard, in collaboration with the artists Oriane Bonafos and Rémi Denis have been selected to present a performance art in the framework of the EXCENTRICITY X INSURRECTIONS festival supported by the FRAC Franche-Comté and the Institut Supérieur des Beaux-Arts of Besançon in France.
The performance that will be presented is based on the following elements:
“WHERE DO WE START FROM?
There are many things that keep us awake at night.
Anxiety that knots our stomach. Anger that acidifies our oesophagus and eats our liver.
The universal love that grows in our chests and never comes out, for lack of a suitable receptacle.
We need to express the conflicts that share us and that we share.
To tell those who are deaf that at night we are witnessing the end of the world… we look for our colleagues in the rubble… we choke on our own filth…
We are consumed by denial. It haunts us. It rusts us.
Who hears us from the gloom of cities and comfortable sofas? Who hears us in the emptiness of misery hidden under abundance? Locked in our boxes of oblivion, we float, multiple, to the shore, in a morbid stench, to run aground.”
The performance will take place in the Cour d’Honneur of the Institut Supérieur des Beaux-Arts in Besançon, France, on April 10, 2019 at 8pm.
